I made this after being inspired from a tarot card of the day called “strength”. It’s about choosing compassion over brute force. The image on the card is a woman standing beside a lion. The lion can easily maul her, especially if she were to be rough with it, but instead, she’s gentle, and her gentleness ultimately wins the lion over. This is a perfect example of how compassion can show up in my life, whether it’s compassion for myself that’s needed, or compassion for those around me. Rarely are heart-battles won with control, they are typically won with grace.

I made this meditation with @h4xflex4dx in mind, the little teenage lion in my life. After trying to win you over through many battles of force, you’re teaching me all the time, that compassion wins the day, even when it’s hard to have it. You remind me to be gentle with myself, and gentle with you, even when it seems like the most unreasonable course of action in the moment. I hope this meditation reminds you to have more compassion for yourself Ben, and for us, your family, and for others you meet out in the world. I know it’s hard, but you can do it! I know that once you do, healing will be limitless! I love you!

• And to you, the listener, I hope this meditation does the same for you. I hope you feel courageous enough to be tender with the little lion child inside of your own soul, the inner child that still needs and wants to grow and heal, and desperately needs your patience and compassion, as well as the little lions in your outer world.
